Legacy 2008

At the heart of Legado lies Quinta do Caêdo, a true viticultural treasure with 8 hectares of centenary vines, planted in small pre-phylloxera terraces that seem to defy time and gravity. In this natural amphitheater, over 25 different grape varieties coexist, creating a living museum of Douro viticulture, where each vine tells a story. The care and preservation of these vineyards is an act of respect for tradition and the land. Annually, horses with ploughs traverse the terraces, aerating the soil and eliminating weeds in a completely organic way, preserving the balance of this ecosystem and respecting the natural cycle of the vine. The harvest, carried out entirely by hand, follows this same respect and care, with harvests taking place in several phases to ensure that each variety reaches its ideal point of maturation
