Legacy 2012

At the heart of the Legacy lies Quinta do Caêdo, a true viticultural treasure with 8 hectares of centenary vineyards, planted on small pre-phylloxera terraces that seem to defy time and gravity. In this natural amphitheater, more than 25 different grape varieties coexist, creating a living museum of Douro viticulture, where each vine tells a story. The care and conservation of these vineyards is an act of respect for tradition and the land. Annually, horses with plows traverse the terraces, aerating the soil and eliminating weeds in a completely organic way, preserving the balance of this ecosystem and respecting the natural cycle of the vineyard. The harvest, carried out entirely by hand, follows this same respect and care, with harvests performed in several phases to ensure that each variety reaches its ideal point of ripeness
