Inospito Old Vines Torto

The 2023 Inóspito Vinhas Velhas Torto Tinto originates in the legendary Torto River Valley, one of the Douro's most emblematic terroirs. At altitudes ranging from 300 to 450 metres, this vineyard, planted in 1920, is a true living museum of Douro viticulture, with over 30 mixed grape varieties, including Touriga Nacional and Touriga Francesa, which find a rare and authentic expression here.

Fermentation is spontaneous, conducted solely by indigenous yeasts, in traditional granite lagares, followed by an 18-month ageing period in new and used French oak barrels from Ermitage, Seguin Moreau, and Taransaud cooperages.

It presents an intense ruby colour and deep aromas of black fruits, graphite, mountain herbs, and subtle spices. On the palate, it is fresh, structured, and elegant, with firm tannins and a lively acidity that provides balance and longevity. The finish is long, mineral, and vibrant—a true tribute to the power of nature and time.
