Poor, schist soils contribute to a unique profile and an expression of Douro interpreted as in the past: fresh, complex and structured, without any tartaric correction. The grapes arrive at the winery in 20 kg boxes and are directly transferred to the press. Fermentation began just 3 days after the grapes entered the press, during which time a large part of their essence was extracted through maceration. Fermentation was spontaneous with indigenous yeasts.
